Metaphysics is easy. The name makes it intimidating. But it’s straightforward.
We’re talking about a world, a realm, a dimension, a space in which there are no physical objects, obstacles, or THINGS in the material sense. We can’t see it or touch it, yet it’s very real. It also happens to be the biggest battlefield of our time.
No truth can really be found in the material. We can express power, influence, beauty, and satisfy other appetites that give us a sense of satisfaction, but these are limited in scope. The real answers come from a sense of spiritual attainment and fulfillment that can only be achieved by operating in another world, another realm we cannot see or feel.
People spend their whole lives running around like decapitated ducks and wonder why they’re miserable, why they can’t maintain relationships, and why their bank accounts are always empty.
Here’s the truth: spirituality is the foundation for everything material, and it’s the only path to get where you want to go.
This is why lottery winners, trust funders, and child stars end up drug-addicted, broke again, or dead. They have never worked on that internal structure of the spirit, and it all collapses like a house of cards when they get “rich”.
But for the beginners out there, how do we even start building this foundation? What are some practical steps you can apply right now? Here are some to consider
Imposing Discipline on oneself rather than indulging material desires
Accounting for your material possessions and throwing unneeded things away
Spending at least a few minutes each day in complete silence and meditation
Making peace with friends and family members or disconnecting fully if needed
Calling yourself out on your own lies and half-truths that keep you in place
Looking for signs and synchronicities that give you ideas and inspiration
Crafting a reality for yourself rather than consuming the pre-made one
Using your natural talents to carve a way forward for yourself in the world
You may wonder how these can even be classified as spiritual practices. The reason is that they go beyond the physical, mental (pure reason), and emotional winds of change that we sustain at every moment.
The first step towards the spiritual is acknowledging it exists, then moving towards it in a way that feels right and scratches that itch that nothing else quite can. It’s not merely accumulating facts and figures or collecting volumes in your home library.
It’s realizing that what we can ascertain with our faculties (the five senses) is only a small sliver of reality, and there is much more to discover.
When you engage in this field of study, as everyone should, you’ll start to see that there’s more than work, food, sex, status, and the other predictable pillars of material life.
I’m not saying you’ll abandon civil society by embarking on this path, so don’t worry about that. However, you will definitely look at things differently, more richly, and with a deeper sense of truth and myth that others lack so dearly.
Take that step now.
In Peace and Power,
