There is a common mistake people make about spirituality.
They think it’s something totally separate from the rest of their lives.
I understand the natural tendency to compartmentalize. We have our work lives, separate from our family lives, separate from our social lives, separate from our romantic lives, etc.
The Western Christian idea of “Church on Sunday” reinforces this view for traditionally religious people. For the secular crowd, the weekly 45-minute Yoga session effectively does the same thing.
But the idea that spirituality is a standalone silo of life is completely backwards.
To get the most value, satisfaction and meaning out of your time on Earth, you need to make EVERYTHING a spiritual experience.
Yes, that means washing the dishes is a spiritual process. So is taking out the garbage, walking the dog and filling out paperwork. So is riding the train or falling asleep.
Every single thing you do can be done with more authenticity, purpose, focus and faith.
This is how you level up your life and become a Master of Spiritual Self-Defense.
Being spiritually enriched in ALL AREAS of life is the only way to become immune to the influence of evil.
Looking into the spiritual dimension of EVERY event, news story, neighborhood development, is how you navigate challenging passages in life.
The spiritual is NOT separate from your job, your friends, your local sports team. It is the common thread that ties it all together.
I encourage you to seek the spiritual everywhere. Don’t hide from it, embrace it.
When we discount ignore the spirit, that’s when we start making the wrong choices and risk falling into bad situations.
Make the commitment RIGHT NOW to the spiritual undercurrent of your life.
Make it a habit to see the world through a spiritual lens and look beyond the news narratives or academic studies that tell us how to live.
Call it the Universe, call it the Natural Order of Things, call it the Most High God, call it whatever most resonates with you. If you feel a sense of awe and appreciation when you meditate on the idea, that’s the right thing to call it. You will know on an instinctive level what it is.
If you start to try to picture it in your head like you forgot your social security number, you’re not on the right track. You can’t map it out on a piece of graph paper.
Reject the inclination to try to explain it perfectly.
Avoid the trap of precise definitions and technical talk.
Stop relying on what psychologists or other “scientists” may tell you.
The spiritual is personal, and it is practical. Mainstream culture wants you to believe the opposite.
Space documentaries on Netflix are designed to make us feel small and insignificant.
Social media is designed to capitalize on envy and jealousy under the guise of human connection.
Figure out how to apply meaning and feeling to the mundane aspects of life, and you will notice depression fade away. Anxiety will diminish.
What I’m not saying is to disavow material desire altogether. This isn’t realistic. It ends up backfiring with weird hang-ups and disorders.
Don’t call yourself a minimalist, either. That is an internet fad that is actually about selling you more stuff, not getting rid of it.
Real spirituality isn’t about depriving yourself just to feel suffering and for no reason.
It’s about squeezing the MAXIMUM amount of meaning and joy out of every experience, every interaction, every phenomenon.
Despite what the media tries to convey with images of bearded weirdos in robes, the spiritual IS the practical. There is no gap in between them. They are the same
There is nothing more beneficial in raising your quality of life and reducing the chance of misfortune. There is nothing more powerful in the realm of medicine, psychology or self-help.
Deepening your spiritual knowledge and connection with Something Bigger is the “life-hack” that nobody ever wants to mention, because it requires you to see beyond the material realm. For most of society, this is bad for business.
Evaluate every purchase and everything you consume with your spiritual growth in mind. It this going to raise my vibration and reveal more truth about the world? Or is this an excuse to escape away from the things that scare me in life?
You’ll start to see how the forces of evil operate. It will be apparent in places you never expected. But you’ll feel more dug-in on the side of good. Self-esteem and confidence will come naturally.
Intuition will no longer be a mystical concept, but a powerful internal compass that never fails to point you the right way.
Walk the Path of the Spirit Warrior and life becomes almost blissful, even in tough times.
You will become Hero to those who you care about most.
You will become the Hero you were always destined to be.
